Creating a Bariatric Surgery Diet

Before you have bariatric surgery, your healthcare team will help you design a bariatric diet in Houston. You may need to begin adjusting your usual diet before you undergo gastric sleeve surgery. Immediately after the bariatric surgery, you’ll be placed on a liquids-only diet for two weeks. During this time, you can consume protein shakes, broth, milk, pudding, yogurt, and gelatin.

When you watch this video, you’ll gain more information about the foods that should be included in your gastric bypass diet. You’ll learn about the importance of consuming enough protein and which foods are good sources of protein. You’ll also get some tips on choosing healthy snacks.
