Skip Fluids When You Eat

Liquids take up space in your stomach just like food. When you drink while you eat, you will either fail to eat enough food, depriving yourself of important nutrients, or you will eat a normal amount of food, but your stomach will stretch excessively because of the fluid, making you feel uncomfortable or hurt your stomach causing nausea or worse. Drink fluids at least up to half hour before or after your meals to avoid this issue.

Restrict Volume

Having bariatric surgery doesn’t mean you have to skip treats forever. Instead of thinking of foods you can never eat again, restrict the volume of every food you eat. This allows you to enjoy occasional treats without risking weight gain.

Bariatric Care Centers supports our weight loss surgery patients after their procedures throughout their adjustment to a new, healthier lifestyle. If you are interested in gastric sleeve surgery in Houston, call (713) 339-1353.
